How many hours can you staff on the server per day?
I can staff around 5 hours Monday to Friday and around 9 on Saturdays and Sundays.
What times can you be on?
From 16:30 to around 21:30 Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 23:00 Saturday and Sunday.
Why do you want to become Staff?:
I want to become Staff because I play on the server a lot and I would like to help the community in a meaningful way.I also sometimes see Staff get flooded with a large influx of reports and it takes ages for your report to get taken, while this is nearly impossible to stop I would like to help reduce this from happening.
Do you have a mic?
Yes.
Why do you think you personally should become Staff?:
I think I should become Staff because I know the majority of the rules, I can put aside my feelings for someone in a sit and act fairly and objectively without letting my feelings influence my decisions, I also have put in over 320 hours on the server so I'm familiar with the servers mechanics and am willing to shop new players the ropes.
Any Staff experience from other games?:
No.
In-Game Scenarios:
A player tells you that someone is making money while they have a building sign up. What do you do and why?
I teleport to the player in question and first look outside their base for a building sign and then inside for presence of any money making entities. If I do find that both of these at the same time I would inform them that this isn't allowed and tell them to either remove the building sign or the money making entities as well as read !motd to avoid any mishaps. If I later receive a report about the same player continuing to do this I would verify that they are doing it and if they are I would give them a warn for FailRP and Ignoring Staff.
Player X hits player Y for 1 point of armor damage and player Y kills player X.Player X reports RDM, what do you do and why?
I teleport both players to a sit and ask them to tell their sides of their story.Regardless of what happened player Y was acting in self defence and he did not RDM. If player X did not mean to damage player Y I would simply advise him to be more careful with his shots in future. If player Y claims player X attempted RDM and there was sufficient evidence I would verbally warn him to not attempt to RDM anyone else or he would get a warn.
Player X calls player Y a (whatever horrible insult comes to mind) over voice. Player Y asks for an admin for disrespect, what do you do and why?
I teleport both players into a sit and inform player Y that there aren't any rules against disrespect so there isn't anything I can do at the moment.I return player X and privately inform player Y to inform me if he continues doing it to make sure there isn't any harassment going on.
3 players report player X for RDM but you cannot find the player in question, what do you do and why?
Firstly I attempt to find player X by checking the name change logs to see if he changed name, if he did I would bring player X and the three people who reported him and let them explain what happened in each of their cases. If he did RDM all three of them I would give him a two week ban for MRDM and refund the three people who he RDM'd.
If he did disconnect I would bring all three people who reported him and let them explain what happened one by one.If all three of them did get RDM'd I would give player X a ban for two weeks and three days for MRDM and LTAP and then proceed to refund all those who were RDM'd by him.
A player accidentally crossfires someone in a raid and the player that got crossfired calls an admin for RDM, what do you do and why?
Let's assume that player X is the one who crossfired and player Y is the one who died.
I would bring both player into a sit and ask player X why he killed player Y.If it was an accidental kill and player X adverted "crossfire" I would advise player X to be more careful with his shots in future and for player Y to stay out of harms way.
However if player X had no valid reason to kill player Y (perhaps player Y wasn't anywhere near him etc.) then that would be RDM and I would verbally warn player X to not RDM and I would refund player Y since he got RDMed.
Any other info about Yourself: I wont be able to be on as much in the last few weeks of May as well as in late November/early December because those are the times where I have big exams coming up.
